Another typical busy week for the development team at Maintenance Assistant. We introduced a small number of workflow improvements and bug fixes as the team has been focused on the most exciting new feature this year, the Purchase Order module.
Ask Me Anything Hour
You can now access the sign up for the “ask me anything” hour directly in the Help section in the CMMS. This session is an open forum where users of the CMMS can connect with Maintenance Assistant product experts, learn new insights and enhance their CMMS experience. As I mentioned before, making money from training is not part of our strategy so the “Ask Me Anything” hour is offered free to all Maintenance Assistant users.
Delete Meter Readings
Users with administrator permissions can now delete meter readings in the CMMS. This functionality was initially restricted as a meter reading can create a chain of events such as scheduled maintenance. Due to the number of requests, we have introduced it for administrators. Please note that if you add a meter reading it can trigger scheduled maintenance. If scheduled maintenance is triggered inadvertadly, you must close off the work order and reset the trigger.
What are the development guys working on this week?
Willie is still working on some behind the scenes work order form code changes. This is the groundwork for some great workflow improvements due in the work order form over the coming months.
David is getting closer to building in drag and drop functionality into the CMMS. When complete, users will be able to drop files directly from their desktops or folders directly into the CMMS. Drag and drop functionality will reduce the amount of clicks needed to upload a file….. To speed the process up further, you can drag multiple files at a time!
Back by popular demand! It seems a large number of customers have remote or mobile assets. We’ve received a large number of feature request for GPS functionality for mapping the asset, so this week, Jason is reintroducing GPS coordinates onto the asset record. This was available in Version 3 but it was removed when the app was redesigned for version 4. When built in, you will be able to enter the street address for an asset, or alternatively, its longitude and latitude coordinates.
Daryl and Bob have been working on the PO module all week. They’ve been working hard on designing the optimal workflow for users. We don’t want users loosing the use of their fingers through too many clicks! Bob just finished off the receiving portion of the module so logistics can reconcile a delivery with the purchase order. Daryl has just finished the user-defined options such as billing terms, shipping type, charge department and purchase order status.
This week, we’re building in two requests from the community request forum. Maintenance Assistant values our users’ ideas and insights so make sure you continue to add new and original ideas to the forum for discussion and review. You can access the forum directly in your CMMS by clicking into the HELP section.
